Oatmeal Breakfast Blend

Oatmeal Mixture.jpg

This oatmeal blend is a game changer for those of us who suffer from chronic constipation. One cup serving of oatmeal provides 5 grams of protein, which is half the amount of protein you need in one day, and combined with the ground flax seed and chia, you have a nutrient packed meal, rich in fiber, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus and a decent amount of calcium and zinc.

Ingredients:

4 cups rolled oats - the whole grain version, not quick oats

8 Tbsp flax - ground

8 Tbsp chia seeds

Instructions:

Place all ingredients in a large bowl and give it a good stir, making sure you have all the ingredients mixed well. Carefully pour into a storage container.

To make a bowl of oatmeal, mix one part oatmeal, with 2 parts water, I also like to sprinkle in some cinnamon or chai spice mix. You can either microwave or cook on your stovetop. After I prepare my oatmeal I load it up with fresh fruit, a tablespoon of chopped nuts, golden raisins, Grapenuts and a splash of cashew milk. This is the kind of breakfast that will fuel your body first thing in the morning, and sustain you well into the lunch hour.

Store your Oatmeal Breakfast Blend in a large, air-tight container in your pantry. It will store for months…if you don’t eat it all before then!
