Savory Herb Granola

Once upon a time there was a woman sitting enjoying a big bowl of oatmeal loaded with Quick and Easy Granola and she got to thinking…with as much as she loves granola, why not create a savory version to sprinkle on salads. The End.

Savory granola might not be a brand new concept but it’s new to me. Sprinkle on salads, avocado toast, Buddha Bowls, and your favorite soups!

Ingredients

1 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup walnuts

1/4 cup sliced almonds

2 Tablespoon chia seeds

1/4 cup pepitas

1/4 cup sunflower seeds

1 Tablespoon black sesame seeds

1 Tablespoon white sesame seeds

1 Tablespoon poppy seeds

2 Tablespoons millet

3 Tablespoons Everything Bagel seasoning

1 Tablespoon herb blend such as Mrs. Dash

5 Tablespoons maple syrup or agave syrup

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a large baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.

  1. Measure all ingredients into a large bowl and give it a good stir to mix well.

  2. Transfer mixture to the lined baking sheet and spread it out for even baking.

  3. Bake until lightly golden, about 20 minutes.

  4. Cool granola on the baking sheet completely before removing it. Using your hands, break granola into smaller pieces and store in an airtight container until ready to eat for up to a couple of weeks…but it will never last that long because you won’t be able to resist putting it on everything!

Yields: 2 1/2 cups

Note: If you don’t have all ingredients on hand, just substitute more of what you do have using the same measure of what you don’t have, such as substitute 2 Tablespoons of white sesame seeds if you don’t have black.
