Do you have a party or special event coming up? Impress your guests with this savory Mushroom Bruschetta. Mushrooms, thyme, garlic, and a crusty baguette is all you need to whip up this quick and easy appetizer!

Ingredients

8 oz package brown bella mushrooms

2 sprigs thyme, leaves finely chopped with extra sprigs to garnish

2 cloves garlic, minced PLUS 1 additional clove

Fresh ground black pepper

Baguette or ciabatta bread, rubbed with garlic and toasted (instructions below)

Instructions

  1. In a hot skillet, saute mushrooms for a few minutes until they start to soften and brown. Water will begin to be released from the mushrooms.

  2. Add chopped thyme and minced garlic and cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, to make sure the mushrooms are cooked evenly.

  3. Season with black pepper and cook a few more minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

  4. Slice the remaining clove of garlic in half and microwave for a minute or two to soften. Keep an eye on it or it will burn, you just want to warm it up enough to soften.

  5. Slice baguette or ciabatta into evenly sized pieces and grill on each side to toast the bread. As an alternative you can toast in an air fryer or oven until slightly toasted and lightly golden.

  6. Rub the garlic on the top of each slice of bread and generously top with the mushroom mixture.

  7. Serve warm.

Garnish with thyme sprigs before serving

Serves 4-6 as an appetizer
