Brownies 3.JPG

I knew that title would grab your attention! There are a ton, and I mean a ton, of plant-based brownie recipes circulating the internet so I’m here to tell you this one IS the BEST! Better than sex? There’s only one way to find out! I personally think they would be good WITH sex!!!

Dry Ingredients

1 cup oat flour, you can make your own by putting rolled oats in your food processor, blending it until you have a fine flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp fine sea salt (optional)

Wet Ingredients

1 cup mashed, overripe banana (about 2 large bananas)

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup coconut sugar or brown sugar

1 tbsp water or brewed coffee

2 tsp vanilla extract

1/3 cup unsweetened - unsalted almond butter (you can also use peanut butter but it will alter the flavor)

Additions (optional, but recommended if you want these better than sex!)

1/4 cup raw walnuts

1/4 cup non-dairy chocolate chips - I prefer the Enjoy Life brand mini chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line an 8 x 8 baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. In a mixing bowl whisk the oat flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt (if using).

  3. In a small bowl, mash the bananas with a fork, it’s ok to have a few small pieces remaining. Measure out 1 cup of banana. Add maple syrup, coconut sugar, vanilla, and almond butter, and stir until completely combined.

  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and give it a good stir.

  5. Transfer the batter to your prepared pan and sprinkle the top with walnuts and chocolate chips.

  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

  7. Let the brownies rest in the pan for 30 minutes before lifting out by the parchment paper. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

What do you think, better than sex?
