Banana-Walnut Wrap

Banana+Wrap.jpg

For those with a sweet tooth, this may very well become you next favorite snack. Best of all, it’s free of guilt and shame and ready to eat in less than 5 minutes! This makes for a great snack or as an entire meal. If chocolate is your guilty please you could sprinkle in some cocoa powder or dairy-free cacao chips.

Ingredients:

1 whole grain wrap or flour tortilla

1 banana

Walnuts

Raisins - I prefer golden

Natural peanut butter

Instructions:

  1. Lay your tortilla or wrap on a cutting board. Spread with a layer of peanut butter, I use a thin layer as this is very rich and I try to be mindful of calorie density.

  2. Peel the banana and lay horizontally across the tortilla about one-third of the way in from the edge.

  3. Sprinkle walnuts and raisins above the banana toward the middle of the tortilla.

  4. Begin rolling up the tortilla from the short edge, going over the banana and continue to roll until you reach the opposite edge. Press the wrap firmly along the edge to seal it. If it doesn’t seal, add a bit more peanut butter to this edge.

  5. Cut in half and enjoy!

For those who suffer from nut allergies, you could substitute sunflower seeds for the walnuts.
