Plant-Based Dog Treats

These Plant-Based Dog Treats are super easy to make, they’re less expensive and much healthier than store-bought!

Ingredients

1 1/3 cups oat flour - see note below

3/4 cup cooked sweet potato

1/4 cup peanut butter

2 tablespoons ground flax meal

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Add sweet potato, peanut butter, flax meal, and cinnamon to a food processor and blend until combined.

  3. Add the oat flour and process until a dough forms.

  4. With wet hands, form disks about 1/4’ thick, and appropriate diameter based on the size dog you’re making them for. Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Or if you want to get really fancy you can roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface using a cookie cutter., gather the remaining dough, and repeat until you run out of dough.

  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes.

  6. Let them cool on a cooling rack and store in the refrigerator for 1 week or freezer for 2 months.

NOTE: If you don’t have oat flour on hand, use old-fashioned rolled oats and blend in a high-speed blender until a flour consistency is achieved.
