PortoMelt Sandwich
Ingredients
1 sliced portobello mushroom cap - stem and gills removed and wiped clean
1/2 small yellow onion, sliced
steak seasoning or a mix of onion powder and garlic powder
1/4 cup Mr. Potato Head Cheese Sauce
2 slices of your favorite grain bread
cooking spray (optional)
Instructions
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the mushroom and onion slices along with a dash of steak seasoning OR a mix of onion powder and garlic powder, saute until they have softened. If they start to stick add a teaspoon or two of water.
Spoon the mushroom-onion mixture over one slice of bread, top with the cheese followed by the second slice of bread.
Wipe out your nonstick skillet, lightly coat with cooking spray and return it to medium heat. Add the sandwich and grill until golden brown on the first side, about 3 minutes. Light coat the top slice of bread with cooking spray, carefully flip the sandwich and repeat on the other side. Serve warm.
