Savory Plant-Based Gravy

Ingredients

2 cups vegetable broth

1 dash or two - powdered rosemary

2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 Tbsp nutritional yeast flakes

1 Tbsp soy sauce, tamari, or coconut aminos

1 tsp light miso

2 Tbsp cornstarch or tapioca flour

Instructions

  1. Measure all ingredients and have them ready to assemble into your gravy. This preparation is referred to as mise en place.

  2. Add all ingredients to a saucepan and whisk until all ingredients are combined. Turn heat to medium-high and continue to whisk until mixture begins to boil. Reduce heat and simmer as you continue to whisk for about 3-5 minutes until gravy thickens. If it’s too thick for your liking, add additional vegetable broth one tablespoon at a time until you achieve your desired consistency.

Yields 2 cups
