Instant Pot Apple Sauce
Ingredients
8 large apples, peeled, cored and roughly chopped - any variety that’s not too tart such as Honeycrisp and Golden Delicious
3/4 cup water
1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Peel, core, and chop apples and place in the Instant Pot.
Add water, lemon juice, and cinnamon to Instant Pot and stir to combine.
Secure the lid and cook on the Pressure Cook setting (high pressure) for 8 minutes. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 15 minutes.
Mash with a potato masher or immersion blender until desired texture is reached, either smooth or chunky. Transfer applesauce to a bowl or individual containers and allow to cool completely.
Enjoy warm or refrigerate. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 7 days. Can also be frozen.
Notes:
Yields approximately 5-6 cups applesauce.
For slow cooker option: Add the peeled and chopped apples to a slow cooker, toss in lemon juice and cinnamon, NO WATER is needed! Cook on LOW for 4 hours, pour into a blender and blend until smooth, or desired consistency.
